Summary

Severe trauma and hemorrhage in mice significantly impair immune function for extended periods. This combined injury model shows a more profound and lasting depression in cellular immunity compared to individual insults.

  • Mice underwent sham operation, laparotomy, hemorrhage, or combined trauma-hemorrhage.
  • Splenocyte and peritoneal macrophage cultures were analyzed 5 days post-insult.
