Summary

Bone metabolic markers, osteoclastic and osteoblastic, significantly increase with bone metastasis. Osteoclastic markers, particularly serum pyridinoline-cross-linked carboxyterminal telopeptide, show high efficiency in detecting bone metastasis across various cancers.
