    Area of Science:

    • Oncology
    • Hematology
    • Pathology

    Background:

    • Burkitt's lymphoma is an aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
    • This rare malignancy is characterized by rapid proliferation and dissemination.

    Observation:

    • Two patients presented with initial mandibular localization of Burkitt's lymphoma.
    • Disease dissemination to the central nervous system and bone marrow was observed.
    • Characteristic Burkitt's type blast cells were identified in bone marrow aspirates.

    Findings:

    • Diagnosis was established through clinical presentation, imaging, and cytological examination.
    • Despite intensive therapy, both patients experienced rapid disease progression.
    • The rapid fatal course highlights the aggressive nature of this lymphoma subtype.

    Implications:

    • Early diagnosis and prompt intervention are critical for managing Burkitt's lymphoma.
    • Understanding the clinical behavior of Burkitt's lymphoma informs treatment strategies.
    • This case study underscores the challenges in treating advanced-stage Burkitt's lymphoma.
