Abstract:
The building of nursing science is the core of knowledge development in nursing. Throughout the years, Gortner has shared her thoughts about science, nursing science, and ways to develop the scientific base of nursing. This paper is a synthesis of Gortner's views on science, nursing science, and nursing science building. It is based on her publications and emphasizes her contributions.
