Summary
Peripheral blood cells secreting interferon gamma (IFN gamma) were significantly higher in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients during attacks. Interleukin 4 (IL-4)-secreting cells were also elevated in MS patients, suggesting complex immune roles in the disease.
