Outpatient conventional laminotomy and disc excision

    Summary

    This study examined whether conventional laminotomy and disc excision could be safely performed in an outpatient setting. The authors analyzed data from 75 patients who underwent the procedure. They found that no complications were caused by the outpatient environment. Two complications occurred, but they were not related to the setting. The study suggests that this surgical approach is a viable and practical option for selected patients. It is the first to analyze this specific procedure in an outpatient context. The findings support the use of conventional disc excision in an outpatient framework. The authors propose that the procedure is a safe and feasible alternative for appropriate patient groups.

    Background:
