Abstract:
Although the economic condition of elderly people in the United States has improved greatly in recent decades, the public's concern for income security for certain segments of the elderly population--black women and Hispanic women, particularly if they are unmarried--lingers. Their economic status remains extremely low. This article discusses the income status and work experience of black and Hispanic older women.
