[Production of phenobarbital antibodies and a study of their immunological specificity]

A conjugated phenobarbital-protein antigen has been synthetized. Immunization of rabbits with this antigen led to the appearance of antibodies specifically reacting with phenobarbital and some other barbiturates in the serum of their blood. Introduction of free phenobarbital to such animals does not produce any somniferous effect.
