Abstract:
Until a few years ago, there was no acceptable imaging modality available for the prostate gland. Since the high frequency endo-rectal ultrasound transducers have been developed, transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) has gained wide acceptance as the method of choice for imaging assessment of common prostate conditions including prostate carcinoma.
