Summary

Ovarian cancer can cause urinary tract obstruction, including urethrovesical junction and ureteral issues. This case highlights a rare presentation of ovarian cancer mimicking endometriosis and causing significant urinary symptoms.

Background:

  • Cervical cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy linked to urinary tract obstruction.

Observation:

  • A 34-year-old female presented with symptoms of bladder outlet obstruction and a recurrent pelvic mass.
  • Imaging revealed bilateral hydronephrosis, confirming bladder outlet obstruction.
  • Laparotomy identified a pelvic mass impinging on the urethrovesical junction and obstructing the right ureter.

Findings:

  • The pelvic mass was pathologically diagnosed as mucinous cystadenocarcinoma of the ovary.
  • The ovarian cancer mimicked endometriosis clinically and grossly.
