Background:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint inflammation.
Current treatments for RA include disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) and biologic agents.
There is a need for effective and well-tolerated RA therapies.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dapsone in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
To compare the therapeutic effects of dapsone with gold therapy in RA management.

Main Methods:

A cohort of 71 RA patients received dapsone (50 mg daily, then 100 mg daily) after an observation period.
Clinical assessments, serum C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and Rose-Waaler titre (RW) were monitored.
