Abstract:
The sialoglycopeptide from bovine brain inhibited the growth of PC12 cells in the presence of nerve growth factor. This inhibition was accompanied by DNA fragmentation showing a ladder pattern and changes in cell morphology leading to cytoplasmic condensation. These results suggest that the sialoglycopeptide induces PC12 cell apoptosis in the presence of nerve growth factor.
