Abstract:
With improved diagnostic techniques and medical advances, increasing numbers of children with disabilities are living longer and healthier lives. During adolescence, those with chronic health problems are at increased risk of various psychological difficulties, culminating in the challenge of transition to adult health services. This review explores these issues as well as how related medical care is funded. The long-term outcome for adolescents with disabilities is favorable.
