Summary

The Showa disk method offers a simpler way to determine bacterial drug susceptibility, potentially replacing breakpoints with Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) estimations. This study validated its accuracy against broth micro-dilution, showing good agreement for routine clinical use in Japan.
