[Programmed relaparotomy in the surgical treatment of acute suppurative peritonitis]
Abstract:
On the basis of the analysis of the use of programmed relaparotomy (PR) in 23 patients with diffused forms of purulent peritonitis, the authors have substantiated the expediency to distinguish the "mandatory" PR (in 15 patients) performed irrespective of the circumstances and the "probably possible" one (in 8), the indications for which are defined at the early postoperative period. In 13 patients the mandatory PR was performed 24-36 hours, in 8-48-72 hours after the first intervention, in 4-two relaparotomies of each type were performed. Postoperative lethality was 35%.
