Craniofacial operation techniques offer new possibilities for plastic reconstruction of the viscero-cranium. For this reason, existing standard techniques, as they are applied to craniostenoses, are modified. These surgical techniques produce a better visibility and thereby lower surgical risk. The correction of bony defects serves as the basis for the reconstruction of the soft tissue. In many cases an additional bone taking can be avoided. Moreover, the aesthetic results are optimized.
