Abstract:
The usefulness of ds DNA antibody detection in the diagnosis of SLE in Indian population was evaluated. One hundred and fourteen sera were tested for antinuclear antibodies by indirect immunofluorescence and for ds DNA antibodies by ELISA. ELISA test has a specificity of 99% and a positive predictive value of 95% for the diagnosis of SLE.
