Background:

  • Combined epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rare entity.
  • It presents with histological features of both adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) and Pindborg tumor (calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor, CEOT).

Observation:

  • A case of CEOT associated with an unerupted maxillary central incisor is presented.
  • Clinical and histological examination revealed features suggestive of a primary AOT with areas of secondary CEOT.

Findings:

  • The study highlights the diagnostic challenge in differentiating primary CEOT from AOT with secondary calcification.
  • Histopathological analysis confirmed the coexistence of typical AOT and Pindborg tumor components.
