Abstract:
Infectious diseases in human populations are seldom seen as part of a permanently occurring phenomenon in natural ecosystems. Their relationships to predator-prey or host-parasite systems are not evident. The conceptual relationships between these systems is established through a basic deterministic model in this note, with special reference to populational fluctuations and epidemic recurrence.
