The proposed counterpart relationship model can be an effective tool in blending role functions to provide culturally sensitive nursing care in international settings. The authors explore their experience in developing a counterpart relationship where the CNS enters into a mutually collaborative relationship with a host counterpart from a cultural base different from the CNS's.
