Abstract:
Fifty-four patients with acute lesions of the gastric mucosa (ALGM) were studied, specially from the clinical point of view and of the gastric secretion. It was found that the ALGM were fundamentally located in the gastric body and that in the majority of cases the maximum acid output obtained through the Histamine stimulation, was either increased or normal. Even though the dispeptic symptoms predominated, an important group of cases had ulcer symptoms.
