Abstract:
A computed tomographic (CT) system was modified to enable fluoroscopy during interventional CT procedures. Five patients with infradiaphragmatic abscesses underwent drainage by means of fluoroscopic CT guidance with a mean procedural time of 12 minutes. The addition of fluoroscopy facilitates avoidance of the diaphragm and injection of contrast material, makes catheter exchange easy, and minimizes procedural time.
