[Regression of neurologic deficits after nerve root lesions caused by lumbar intervertebral disk hernia]

In a clinical study 123 patients with severe neurological dysfunction were selected from the 2000 patients operated on for lumbar disc herniation in the years 1980-1984. We investigated the recovery of the neurological functions and try to discuss the factors influencing the recovery as well as the possible causes for the persistence of symptoms.
