Neurological emergencies. 2: Nurse-aid management of fits

During the fit, the patient should be protected from further injury. The nurse aider should remove or guard the patient against dangerous objects nearby. To avoid further injury the nurse aider must carefully restrain and control the patient's movements. A clear airway must be maintained. The patient should be placed in the recovery position. Details of the fit should be observed.
