[Complications of laparoscopic surgery in urology]

The use of laparoscopy has become commonplace in urology over the past several years and will undoubtedly continue to grow. Although the morbidity and mortality of this minimally invasive technique are relatively low, the risks involved must be taken seriously. A thorough understanding of the potential complications allows one to anticipate these events and therefore reduces their likelihood. This paper will review the mechanisms of laparoscopic surgical complications throughout the entire realm of the laparoscopic case.
