Carcinoma of the breast

The overview of the Early Breast Cancer Trialists Collaborative Group in 1992 has been a watershed for current adjuvant therapy for all age groups. This article describes current principles of adjuvant therapy, highlighting areas of specific interest. In addition, the recent developments in neoadjuvant and primary medical treatment are described to show how future approaches will proceed.
