A sensitive method of testing for transgenic mice using polymerase chain reaction-southern hybridization

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based method for identification of small numbers (lower than one copy per diploid cell) of transgenes in transgenic mice is described. This method is also advantageous in terms of overcoming occasional poor PCR conditions.
