Aesthetic inlays and onlays: a clinical technique update
Abstract:
Advances in adhesive technology offer the dentist the potential to place tooth-reinforcing restorations with more conservative preparations. At the same time, improvements in tooth-colored restorative materials are yielding high levels of durability and aesthetics. The combination of these events has led to the development of an entirely new class of restorations for posterior teeth, called aesthetic bonded inlays and onlays. The learning objective of this article is to present an updated, simplified, and predictable technique for placing an indirect composite resin inlay or onlay.
