Summary

Progestogens in hormone replacement therapy protect the endometrium, but regular bleeding does not guarantee endometrial health. Irregular bleeding may signal issues, but normal patterns can mask abnormalities.

Background:

  • Estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) in postmenopausal women requires progestogen addition to prevent endometrial hyperplasia and adenocarcinoma.
