[Physico-chemical state of DNA after long-term storage]
Abstract:
A physicochemical state of DNA was studied during 1-2 years when stored under different conditions: in the citric-salt solution and in the solution of 0.9% NaCl in the cold, in the citric-salt solution at frozen state (biopolymer concentration in the solution being approximately 2 mg/ml) and under 80% ethanol as a loose filamentous precipitate at 40 degrees C. It is shown that DNA retains its macromolecular structure for a long time under given conditions of conservation. These conditions of DNA preparations storage may be used for biopolymer conservation.
