Cardiac complications of laparoscopy: anesthetic implications

Enormous technical advances have occurred in the field of endoscopic surgery during the last 20 years, increasing the number of surgeries performed using this technique. Today, laparoscopy has become one of the most frequent gynecologic operative procedures performed. The anesthesia provider must be aware of the potential complications and risks of the surgery. A review of the possible cardiac complications associated with laparoscopic surgery is presented.
