Abstract:
Young girls reach menarche, the first menstruation, with misinformation and conflicted attitudes. Education for the menarche for many young women has not been adequate because of inaccurate information, uncomfortable teachers, and cognitive and developmental issues of young girls. When presenting information about the menarche the nurse should pay careful attention to the timing, context, content, and methodology of menarcheal information.
