Plasma bone-specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP) is elevated in osteosarcoma patients, distinguishing them from normal subjects and those with other bone conditions. Higher BALP levels correlate with disease recurrence, indicating its value in osteosarcoma diagnosis and monitoring.
