Inflammatory bowel disease: implications for the medical-surgical nurse

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a relatively common but frequently misunderstood condition. In this review, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, the two major forms of IBD, are explored and treatment options are discussed. As a result, the medical-surgical nurse will be better able to discriminate between and manage these two conditions.
