Primary care of adolescents with bulimia nervosa

Adolescents with bulimia nervosa present a challenge to pediatric nurse practitioners. These adolescents have a disorder that is secretive and difficult to diagnose, chronic, multifaceted, and difficult to treat. However, armed with the proper knowledge and skills, pediatric nurse practitioners are the ideal primary health care providers for this population.
