Area of Science:

  • Medical Genetics
  • Dermatology
  • Urology

Background:

  • Polythelia, the presence of accessory nipples, is the most common form of supernumerary breast tissue.
  • While familial cases are recognized, they are exceptionally rare.
  • Recent studies suggest an association between polythelia and nephrourological anomalies, primarily in non-familial cases.
