Abstract:
The study describes a group of patients with big recurrent strangulating inguino-scrotal hernias. The age of patients was between 45 and 80 years. All of them were admitted to the hospital within first 12 hours after strangulation and underwent surgery. 11 patients had ordinary hernioplasty and 25 patients had autoperitoneal hernioplasty. This last method does not cause any trauma, it is a simple procedure and it does not take too much time. There were no deaths after operation. Recurrence of the hernia within a year after an operation was not reported. The function of a digestive tract is good after this operation.
