Objectives:
A 49-year-old male with primary lymphoma of the prostate is described. The clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects are discussed.
Methods/Results:
The diagnostic yield of ultrasound in this condition is evaluated and the possible site for US-guided biopsy is defined. A significant correlation was found between a positive biopsy and the area of the prostate identified sonographically. There were no recurrence or other manifestations after treatment.
Conclusions:
The clinical features are corroborated by the sonographic findings and US-guided biopsy has been demonstrated to be more precise.
