Background:

High-field Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) requires specialized radiofrequency (RF) coils.
Existing volume coil designs can be complex and expensive.
Minimizing capacitive coupling is crucial for coil performance, especially with conductive samples.

Purpose of the Study:

To describe the construction and performance of a novel, easily constructed, low-capacitive coupling volume coil.
To present the lambda coil as an economical alternative for high-field MRI applications.

Main Methods:

Construction of a lambda coil using two 5/4 wavelength coaxial cables and an LC bridge balun.
Arrangement of coaxial cables analogous to a 1/2 lambda T-antenna for effective B1 field generation.
