Ascorbate oxidase from the fungus Acremonium sp. HI-25 is a copper-containing glycoprotein that catalyzes the oxidation of ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid. Monosaccharide composition analysis showed that the enzyme contains exclusively N-linked oligosaccharide chains.
