Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the effect of field of view (FOV) on pilots' time to collision (TTC) estimations.
  • To determine how different motion scenarios (ownship vs. target) impact TTC judgments.

  • Six pilots participated in a helicopter flight simulator study.
  • Participants judged TTC with a disappearing target under varying FOV conditions (large, intermediate, small).
