Abstract:
The possibilities of transthoracic rheographic examinations with the aid of conventional rheographs were studied with reference to the stroke volume and minute cardiac output. A high percentage of coinciding results was found in comparison with similar studies performed on a tetrapolar rheograph. On the basis of the examinations of 60 normal individuals normal values of the systolic and minute cardiac outputs were found, as well as those of several other important haemodynamic parameters that permit a most precise noninvasive measurement of the parameters characterizing the functional state of the cardiovascular system under various conditions.
