Perinatal testicular torsion and the hard testicle
1Department of Pediatrics, University of Illinois, USA.
Abstract:
Perinatal testicular torsion in the neonate is uncommon. However, early diagnosis is important to enable timely surgical exploration. The presence of a hard testis should raise the suspicion of perinatal torsion. The cases of two infants with this disease process are presented. The rationale for scrotal exploration is discussed.
