Advances in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics: endothelin

Endothelin-1, a potent endothelium-derived 21-amino acid vasoconstrictor peptide was only discovered relatively recently. Antagonism of its actions may provide an important new approach to the modulation of cardiac and vascular function.
