Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of the laparoscopic approach for diagnosing and treating severe urinary tract endometriosis.
  • To assess the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery for bladder and ureteral endometriosis.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective review of 28 women with deeply infiltrating urinary tract endometriosis (bladder and ureter).
  • All procedures were performed laparoscopically, including partial cystectomy, ureterolysis, excision, partial wall resection, ureteroureterostomy, and ureteroneocystostomy.

    • The observed rate of ureteral endometriosis in this series was higher than previously reported.
