Summary

Sperm gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) is present on boar spermatozoa and may limit male pronuclear formation. Microinjection of GGT into oocytes reduced glutathione levels and inhibited male pronuclear development, suggesting a role in fertilization.
