Ultrasound technology has steadily advanced in the past decade, and has established itself as a useful diagnostic tool. Many radiologic technologists may like to know more about the fundamentals of this field. This article explains briefly the basic instrumentation, modes of display and some of the common examinations performed in ultrasound technology.
