Summary

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) can cause severe gastrointestinal issues, including hepatitis and mesenteric vasculitis. This case highlights the importance of recognizing these lupus manifestations for timely diagnosis and treatment.

Background:

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with diverse clinical presentations.
Gastrointestinal (GI) manifestations of SLE are common but often overlooked.
Hepatic and mesenteric involvement can lead to significant morbidity.
