Abstract:
Allergic diseases are major causes of morbidity in children of all ages. Although improved treatment modalities have been developed for many of the allergic diseases, others, such as food allergy, have no available treatment. It would obviously be ideal if some allergic disease could be prevented. Although this approach is still in its early stages of development, a number of very encouraging studies have emerged in recent years. These studies are the focus of this review.
