Electrophoretic mobility shift assays (EMSA) provide DNA-binding affinity estimates comparable to quantitative DNa-seI footprinting assays (QDFA). Adjustments to EMSA buffer conditions and sample preparation improve agreement between these crucial gene regulation research techniques.
